PaperBricks Pallet bench and coffee tables, from €840 each, WooJai
Eindhoven-based designer WooJai Lee turns recycled newspaper into bricks. Paper pulp is mixed with glue and pressed into a mould to form brick-shaped blocks. Each can then be cut, drilled and glued much like wood. A brick form minimises material usage while enhancing overall strength, and holes in the sides mean the forms can be fixed together to create tables and benches. Stackable and sturdy, the bricks also have a tactile quality and distinct marble appearance.
The PaperBrick pallet series was created to show the constructive quality of the marbled paper product.
