Industrial style kitchens can be created in any home no matter whether the building has an industrial past or not. We’ve picked out five of the best kitchens that can help bring those industrial vibes into your home.

Industrial style is having a moment right now and nowhere is it more prominent than in the kitchen. At Imm Cologne this past January, examples of kitchens that were inspired by the industrial aesthetic were everywhere. To get the look, surfaces mimicked industrial materials with raw concrete, metal finishes and interesting patinas taking centre stage. Open shelving was also a popular addition and glass featured heavily in the form of drawers and display cabinets.

Here we have chosen five standout examples of kitchens that can help you bring the industrial aesthetic into your home.

1. The Minacciolo Minà Kitchen

This kitchen was designed to be a real “cooking machine” and was inspired by the first cast-iron wood-burning cooking stoves. But unlike its primitive forerunner, it incorporates all the very latest features required of a professional kitchen. The cooking and working block features large drawers designed for the storage of cutlery, dishes, and pans. Minà also has tall units which can easily accommodate roomy pantry cupboards. A distinctive feature of the kitchen is the pair of Mammut extractor hoods.

2. The Poggenpohl +MODO kitchen

The +MODO stood out as a kitchen that is both solid and delicate. It combines craftsmanship with precision and attention to detail. The interaction of open and closed spaces provides an opportunity for the residents to decide just how much of themselves they are going to share. The worktop can be staggered over the cabinets creating an overhang on one side allowing the owners to design a space that meets their individual needs. The glass box that runs beneath the worktop protects precious belongings whilst allowing them to take pride of place in the kitchen.

3. The Frama Studio Kitchen

The Frama Studio kitchen has been designed to look more like a piece of free-standing furniture than a kitchen. Built upon a powder coated metal grid, it provides an industrial but light approach. A combination of stone, wood, and metal work effortlessly together to create a compact kitchen with the option of open or concealed storage.

4. The Haberdasher’s Kitchen by deVOL

The Haberdasher’s Kitchen, which was designed by deVOL’s Director Paul O’Leary, is a modern retro design that embraces contemporary materials and construction methods, but that has a real sense of nostalgia and comfort. Inspired by a love for mid-century furniture and the evocative feel of an English gentlemen’s haberdashery, this kitchen features glazed door and drawer fronts allowing for the display of beautiful kitchenalia and unusual trinkets.

5. Scavolini's Diesel Open Workshop kitchen

The result of a partnership between the Diesel Living team and Scavolini, Diesel Open Workshop is a kitchen with an industrial twist. It combines modern aesthetics with smart and lasting industrial elements that enhance its functionality. Modular storage solutions feature steel tubing and opaque ribbed glass door and drawer fronts make for an industrial statement that defines this kitchen.
