Treasure Trunk From Vincent And Barn
When Mr MWH and I first moved in to a flat together, he arrived with his old school trunk. I remember him lugging it up the stairs behind him and wondering where on earth we would put it. Years later and this battered, dented, beaten-up old trunk, with fragments of boyhood stickers clinging to its sides, still takes pride of place in our home. Having first started out as a trusty coffee table in our living room, and a brilliant place to store DVDs and board games, the trunk has since taken on a new role storing spare linen at the end of our bed. It has a slightly old-fashioned yet boyish charm – much like my husband…! And it’s become one of my favourite items of furniture in our home.
Vincent and Barn stock this very smart iron trunk. It’s described as a coffee table, but of course if you wanted to put it to other uses it would look equally at home in a bedroom or hallway. Solid and sturdy, 42cm in height by 86cm in length, it provides plenty of storage space. And it’s on wheels, making it very easy to move around when you need to – something I’ll remember when we’re struggling to heave Mr MWH’s ten tonne trunk around by its clumsy leather handles.
