Industrial Finds from Ark Midcentury

Posted on May 14, 2015 by

Ark Midcentury’s expertise lies in sourcing mid-twentieth century vintage industrial furniture. Jerry Dye, the founder of Ark Midcentury, has a keen eye for an original find. From factory salvaged pieces to reworked design classics, every item in the ever changing Ark Midcentury collection is unique and unusual. The online emporium has a workshop in Norwich and viewings can be arranged by appointment.  We caught up with Jerry recently and wanted to share some of his latest discoveries with you all.

We love these original barber chairs for their functional, no nonsense aesthetic. The pop of green looks crisp and cool against an exposed brick wall and the reclining seat means you can kick back in style.

This well-loved factory chair is a genuine Singer machinist chair and comes complete with the original cast-iron detailing. A design classic, the Singer machinist stool features in the beautiful book Industrial Chic. Highly sought after, this chair is bound to be snapped up quickly!

These teal coloured engineers shelves are a timeless storage solution that will suit any room. Reworked with a solid oak top and with plenty of spacious pigeon holes, the unit is a great storage solution for anything from shoes to books and DVDs or paperwork!
