Plywood Printed Stools
I’m a longstanding fan of Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek, so I was very pleased to see these lovely little Piet Hein Eek designed plywood stools among the new items available from The Gifted Few this week. I think there’s going to be quite a feel for plywood this year – and these charming stools prove that it can have a raw yet refined quality.

Gifted a wood enabled Canon printer, and following a visit to Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum, Piet was inspired to honour the work of select Dutch masters atop simple contemporary plywood stools. There are 10 different stools in the final collection, created for design brand NLXL Lab, but if I had to pick a favourite three they would be as follows.
On a practical note, at 47cm high and 33cm in diameter, these stools would double as useful side tables or even bedside tables. And, because they come flat-packed for self assembly, they’re easy to stow away again when necessary. They’re also very light, so they’re easy to move around. And I think they would make lovely gifts. So, they tick all the boxes frankly!
