The Rag and Bone Man Returns To Tent
We’ve enjoyed following the upcycling journey of The Rag and Bone Man over the past few years. Creative British upcycling designer Paul Firbank launched The Rag and Bone Man at design show Tent London in 2011. His debut that year was so successful that he had sold all of his pieces within 3 days. The Rag and Bone Man will be returning to Tent London this September (24th – 27th) and we can’t wait to see what he brings with him.
Paul originally studied metalwork with the intention of customising bikes and motorcycles. But his passion for repurposing led him to branch out into crafting bespoke furniture, lighting and accessories. These characterful lamps have both been expertly crafted from vintage jacks. The original patina has been sealed and both pieces have been finished to a high shine.

Paul reworks abandoned mechanisms, machinery and scrap into unique contemporary pieces, each with a strong industrial look and entirely new purpose. Every item is a one-off, individually tagged with a serial number and the date on which it was completed. We fell in love at first sight with this imaginative industrial take on an Ercol-style love seat.

You’ll be able to see Paul’s remarkable work for yourself at this year’s Tent London, on stand T1 in hall F17. The show takes place at the historic Truman Brewery in London’s Brick Lane. And Warehouse Home are a proud Tent media partner – so look out for us when you visit!
