Past & Present: 3 Colourful Wire Designs

Posted on Sep 2, 2016 by

The wire trend, a firm favourite with the team at Warehouse Home, is as popular today as it was over 50 years ago. Typically styled in copper and blackened metals, these fine lined designs are perfect for adding a tough industrial edge to just about any interior. Create the perfect contrast and go bold with playful shots of colour perfect for children’s rooms and communal spaces alike. Functional or purely decorative, read as we share three colourful designs made from wire.

1. Create visual interest and add a bold dash of colour against textured features like concrete with this unique 5 bay wire locker in green, salvaged from an old school classroom. Use it to store books, shoes, crockery and of course, clothing.

3. The unique, modular structure of this wire grid desk was developed by new graduate, Ying Chang, winner of the MADE Emerging Talent Award for 2014. Slot blackened metal boxes in an arrangement of your choice and build upon it with colourful and textured boards to give height or a flat surface as and when required (Spot this design in Warehouse Home Issue Four!).
