New Quadric Lighting by MOS Furniture

Posted on Mar 22, 2016 by

Luke Harding, founder of Cumbria based furniture designers MOS Furniture, has released a new collection of bold, contemporary home accessories under the name ‘Flock’. This new range brings together smaller products in smaller runs, but maintains the company’s focus on quality at an affordable price. This Quadric Light caught our eyes.

Flock is a soft, suede-like material, created by electrostatically adhering coloured nylon fibres directly to the wood surface.

Speaking of his vision for the Quadric Light, Luke Harding explains that he was inspired by the clean shapes and proportions of art-deco lighting and design. Wooden layers are separated using spacers for an accordion like appearance that gives a subtle spread of light.

The Quadric Lights come in three different equally vibrant colours that will contrast well with a dark interior scheme. Image courtesy of mosfurniture.co.uk

The Quadric Light is available in oak or walnut and comes in four vibrant colours, the neon finishes highlighting the angles and edges of the light and accentuating the interesting layered design. The light is also available in two different sizes, medium and large, and we suggest mixing and matching for further visual interest.

The light comes with solid metal bulb and ceiling plate fixings and a corded cable.

We think this unusual light fitting would look great in an industrial interior – a colourful and contemporary feature to offset a raw aesthetic.
