In Lovely Company
Lovely & Company is an online vintage furniture emporium founded by Enzo and Lucy Amico. Both Enzo and Lucy have backgrounds in the music industry and their approach to sourcing furniture for their store appears to be as eclectic as their musical tastes. Lovely & Company’s collection ranges from industrial and rustic furniture to mid-century gems and Danish design. In addition to stocking iconic brands such as Eames, Enzo and Lucy also focus on seeking out individual and authentic items with the same enduring appeal. Designer and vintage sit together on lovelyandco.co.uk and the collection, which is sourced from all over the world, attracts customers from far and wide too (including those behind such hotspots as Soho House, Gail’s Bakery and Jamie’s Italian). And if you like to see your furniture in the flesh before you take it home, there is also a Brighton showroom. If you’re planning a trip to the seaside, be sure to make an appointment to visit Lovely & Company after your stroll down the pier!
Skipping through the latest temptations new in at Lovely & Company this weekend, two wonderful old industrial trucks caught my eye. I’ve seen a handful of these kinds of trucks over recent weeks – but finding them in such good quality is rare. Trolleys and trucks of various kinds were found in mills and factories across the country for decades, used in the workshops and on the factory floor to collect and transport materials. Today, when you can find a good vintage specimen, they have a whole range of potential new uses, as laundry baskets, log stores, toy boxes and more!
We think this charming vintage GPO postal truck in wicker would make a fantastic statement laundry basket or storage place for blankets and bedding. At 148cm in length, the truck is quite large – but as the basket is wicker and mounted on wheels, it’s easy to move around.

Founded in 1893 by Harry Crowther, the Slingsby company went into the production of trucks and trolleys for commercial and industrial use. In 1894, Slingsby had filed a patent for a sliding wheel truck and within just 7 years, by 1901, its London depot had become the largest truck establishment in the world. In 1932, Slingsby became the first company to export its trucks by air. And Slingsby remains one of the UK’s market leaders in producing industrial and commercial equipment. This vintage Slingsby truck from Lovely & Company is in particularly good condition and at 91cm in height, 84cm wide and 40.5cm deep, it’s a very good sized storage solution for your home. Mounted on wheels and with sturdy side handles, the truck can be readily moved around. We think its wood panel construction and metal edging make it the perfect industrial style storage unit for logs.
