The Adnet Circulaire
A true design class, the Adnet mirror or Adnet “Circulaire” mirror was the result of a creative collaboration between renowned French architect and designer Jacques Adnet and Fashion house Hermes. As part of that collaboration in 1950, Adnet developed a collection of leather-covered furniture and interior accessories, including this incredibly chic round leather mirror with brass buckle details. In reissuing this iconic design today, careful attention has been paid to the quality of the materials used – the beautiful brown Italian leather is hand-stitched and tanned by talented craftsmen using natural and environmentally friend vegetable tannins. Our tip: we think the leather and buckle details give this mirror a strong “masculine” quality, so perhaps try hanging it in a hallway against a strong dark wall colour (try Farrow & Ball’s “Railings”). The mirror is available in three different diameters (45, 58 and 70cm), so you could also create a striking feature by hanging a selection at various heights.
