5 Ways to Add Gold in Your Home
The warm tone of gold is making a welcome return to interior decoration this season. From smaller accessories to light fixtures and furniture, adding touches of this glamorous and gleaming metal will transform any interior.
This autumn, gold will find its perfect pairing with black, rich navy and burgundy hues. To raise the luxe levels, combine gold fixtures with marble, wood and bright white. Embrace the opulence by introducing larger items of furniture in gold, or use gold accessories for a more subtle touch.
Here are some of our current favourite gold designs.
Autumn will see the launch of these stunning new Factorylux lights. To create an exceptional quality and durability, the metallic layers are built up, nickel first and then completed with a gold plate finish.
Dining & Entertaining Furniture
• Luxe Drinks Trollery, £350, Oliver Bonas
Cocktail anyone? Made and hand finished in India, this luxe trolley combines two of our favourite micro trends; gold and marble. It also features a mirror shelf for storing your favourite spirits and cocktail glasses. Mounted on swivel castor wheels, it’s easy to move around to get the party started!
• Two cafe chairs in antique gold, £200, Cox & Cox
These cafe chairs from Cox & Cox pair industrial style with metallic luxe. Made from iron, each chair has been ‘antiqued’ by hand to achieve a distressed gold finish. Their simple design and spindle back puts a modern twist on a traditional design – we think they’d sit perfectly in an industrial, white tiled kitchen against contrasting marble!
• Luxe Shelving Unit, £895, Oliver Bonas
Practicality meets luxe with Oliver Bonas’ Luxe Shelving Unit. All shelves are glass, making the shelves a minimalist yet elegant addition to any room. We love the geometric style of the unit and think it would look gorgeous against an exposed brick wall!
• Accent Side Table, £150, Urban Outfitters
A delicate scallop design and gold detailing with a glass tabletop make this a pretty side table for any room. We think Urban Outfitter’s Accent Side Table would stand out against traditional parque flooring in a warehouse setting, or against a simple white backdrop in a modern, minimalist home.
• Aurelia Brushed Gold Cutlery 16-Piece Set, £75, Cox & Cox
Wary of going all-out gold with your interior decor? Then a solution is to simply introduce gold accents with subtle pieces like Cox & Cox’s brushed gold cutlery. Made from high-quality stainless steel, finished in gold, the cutlery is smooth, matt and lightweight for a luxurious feel. Each set comes with 4 table knifes, 4 table forks, 4 desert spoons and 4 teaspoons. Time for a dinner party, we think!
• Record Holder, £30, Urban Outfitters
Are you a bit of a record collector? Put them on display in your living room with this retro gold wire record holder.
• Tom Dixon Gem Candle Stick Gold, £80, Houseology
The Gem Candle Stick by Tom Dixon is inspired by the faces of cut gemstones and assumes a silhouette figure. It’s pure industrial luxe, so be sure to choose a prominent place for it! You’ll want to use it as a centrepiece for that dinner party too!
• French Circular Mirror, £75, Rose & Grey
A simple circular mirror has been given an opulent makeover with a gold finish. The thin gold frame of the Rose & Grey mirror makes it perfect for the bedroom, bathroom or hallway. This mirror mirror is certainly the fairest of them all!
