3 Tips: Industrial Style Around The Home
Hardwearing industrial style furniture, built to last and full of character, is naturally a popular choice in a warehouse conversion or former industrial building. But robust forms, rivet and stencil details, metal and piping, can all be incorporated into any modern home and interior scheme. Whether you live in a country house or a city apartment, there are a number of ways to incorporate industrial elements in a stylish, and even subtle, way. Here are 3 of our latest tips for achieving channelling a little factory chic in your home.
Tip 1: The typography trend remains strong in interiors this year; embrace the trend with warehouse inspired stencilled lettering. Channel an industrial style interior with graphic wall art or go bold and use a sizeable storage solution with typographic touches to create a focal point. This timber and iron cabinet is a unique design, featuring industrial pipe style handles and factory-esque lettering. With 2 doors and 4 drawers, it offers plenty of storage. We particularly like the dynamic effect created by the contrasting herringbone pattern on the main cabinet door. And this is a unit that will really work in any room of the house.

Tip 2: From pendant lights to desk lamps, lighting is an unique way to introduce an industrial element into an interior. And there is plenty of opportunity to select a characterful solution, without it overshadowing the rest of your space. For an injection of steampunk style, we love these industrial piping lamps. The smoked glass bulb shade and vintage-look faucet switch add to the distinctive design. And a vintage effect filament bulb would certainly complete the effect.

Tip 3: Beside a bed or to the side of a sofa or favourite reading chair, a table or cabinet will provide useful storage space and a surface for books and drinks. But there’s no reason why a side unit should blend into the background. Why not choose a feature piece. These industrial tables feature studs and rivets and combine rich fir wood with a strong metal frame. A grey marble tabletop is the perfect finishing touch.
