3 Things To Do: Clerkernwell Design Week

Posted on Feb 21, 2017 by

A dynamic area with a rich industrial history and long tradition with the creative industries, London’s Clerkenwell is home to more creative businesses and architects per square mile than anywhere on the planet. A true testament to, and celebration of its rich and diverse, design-led community, Clerkenwell Design Week will present a variety of showroom events, pop-up exhibitions and special installations focusing on established and emerging design talent. Here we share 3 things to see and do at CDW17.

1. Pentagon Tiles

Set within stacked red and yellow shipping containers, Pentagon Tiles will create an immersive, sensory experience in which everything the customer sees and touches is decorated by glazed clay, handcrafted by an architectural ceramicist.

Colourful shipping containers were chosen specifically to anchor the new showroom with the industrial heritage of Leather Lane

2. Carl Hansen & Son

Producing sustainable furniture of enduring beauty, Carl Hansen & Son remains the largest manufacturer of furniture designed by Hans J. Wegner – the driving force behind the ‘Danish Modern’ movement.
